Former Chelsea and Inter Milan manager, Antonio Conte, has identified three players who made a significant impression on him during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
He highlighted Arsenal transfer target Ayyoub Bouaddi, including him among his three standout players of the tournament.
The Moroccan international showcased his talent during his team’s journey to the quarter-finals, where they were ultimately defeated by France.
Prior to his remarkable performance for his country, the teenager had already been recognized as a potential Premier League transfer following an outstanding season with Lille.
Bouaddi was one of three African players who caught Conte’s attention, alongside two players from the Ivory Coast and Egypt who advanced to the knockout rounds.
In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, he stated, “I was impressed by Hassan, the Egyptian winger; Bouaddi, the Moroccan midfielder; and Oulai, the Ivorian midfielder.
The Italian then shifted his focus to the upcoming semi-final clash between England and Argentina, discussing two forwards, Harry Kane and Lautaro Martinez, whom he is familiar with from his time managing Tottenham and Inter.
He remarked, “Kane is an exceptional centre forward, but he often plays like an attacking midfielder. He has a keen understanding of movement, knowing when to retreat and act as a playmaker.
“He is an outstanding player with remarkable technical skills. It was unjust that he had not won any titles until now. At Bayern, he is finally receiving the recognition he deserves. Perhaps he will achieve similar success with the national team. Kane leads in his own way, not necessarily through words, but certainly through his performance.
“His development is ongoing. Furthermore, his personality and charisma are significant assets.
“There is an Inter with Lautaro and an Inter without him. His involvement is crucial. Lautaro has realized that he can play a vital role for Argentina, even if it is for a limited time.
“They have embraced their roles, setting aside personal ambitions for the benefit of the team: both have performed admirably, and Scaloni has done an excellent job in persuading them.”
