Newcastle United legend, Alan Shearer, has slammed ‘pathetic’ Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes following the Red Devils’ Premier League derby 1-0 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.
Shearer believes Fernandes was play-acting in an attempt to get Phil Foden sent off at Old Trafford.
Erling Haaland’s second-half goal ensured Man City defeated Michael Carrick’s side as Foden was sent off for fouling Fernandes in the first-half during the encounter.
Speaking on The Rest Is Football, Shearer insisted that Fernandes also kicked Foden.
The former England international said, “I thought the way Bruno Fernandes went down was pathetic.
“He helped get Foden off, and yes, he’s kicked out at him a little bit, but Bruno Fernandes has also kicked Phil Foden.”
